Hi,

I use IE as my browser. When I use "Find" (Ctrl-F) to find something in the web page, I got the following error message:

"An error has occurred in this dialog.
Error: 49
Interface not registered"

Any idea what's wrong?

Thanks a lot.

Do you get the same error mesage when you select Find from the menu instead?

Do you have any toolbars installed? If so... try uninstalling them first.

Check your machine is clean of spyware and ad-junk-ware as well... maybe something is attempting to intercept your find and redirect the results somewhere else.

Just some thoughts... they might be of use to you.

Jeff

Yup, I got the error message too when I select Find from the menu. Btw, how do I check for spyware? Thanks...

Grab a copy of adaware (google for it... it's some free software from Lavasoft). That's a bit of scanning/removal software that is always a good dtarting point. Next would be something like Spybot Seach and Destroy (google again). The two running together ought to clear out most things.

Cheers,
Jeff
