IE connection problem

I have 4 computers (All Win98SE)hooked to a dsl router so they can connect to the internet (TCPIP) and to each other (NetBeui).

Several weeks ago one of the machines stopped connecting to the Internet using IE but it could see the other computers and they could see it.

It appeared that something had changed the TCPIP settings so I searched but found nothing obviously wrong. So I unloaded and reloaded TCPIP. I also switched cables and moved to a different spot on the router but it still would not connect to the internet.

I then loaded another browser (Avant) to see if it would connect. I choose Advant because it is small and because it needs IE to work. After installing Advant I could connect to the internet and when I tried IE it worked also.

But the next day I tried IE and Advant again and neither one worked. I uninstalled and reinstalled Advant but it still didn't work.

I can't think of anything else to try.

Thanks for any suggestions

Thanks for the suggestion. I like having WinsockFix in my toolkit.

The preoblem turned out to be ZoneAlarm. For some reason it decide it would not let any TCPIP thru. And it owuld not let me change it. I uninstalled and reinstalled and it works fine now.

Thanks again
