IE closes straight after opening. Please HELP!!!

Hi,

IE is not working on my machine. I had a problem where multiple copies of IE were starting up and now IE opens and closes immediately.

I updated to IE6 but still get the same problem.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Could it be a virus?
