IE closes by itself

Hi all,

I am using IE 5.5 on a win 2000 platform. My browser closes by itself when I visit certing sites.
Can someone tell me what's happening and how I can solve this problem?

Do you/have you had a pop-up killer type program installed?

I just read through the thread on the 2nd page and saw how someone facing the problem that I am having sorted it out. I am going to try that too.

Good deal...
...if that fails, try reinstalling Java 2 Runtime Environment.

A word of caution, however...don't mess with AdAware (at least for the time being). thay're having some problems and haven't updated in so long that the product is virtually useless. Try going with SpyBot instead...excellent product.
