IE can't open search page

I posted any earlier message. Sorry -- I am new to the forurm. I am using Win ME with DSL.

Problem: Have DSL. Can't connect to IE. Get message that IE can't open search page. Get message that there is a network error, document can not be updated. Unable to renew all ip configuration.

Didn't work. Restarted the computer and still get the message: There has been a network error. The update document is not available.

IE error messages are not going to help.

Do an ipconfig /all and post the results here.

I don't understand the ping and such. I have a cable tech coming out tomorrow. Don't know what all that will entail. I have enjoyed the responses from this forum. I don't think I know enough about the inside of the network card and connection to my DSL server to know what is going on. I can just see him coming and I will still have the same problem. Never know.

You should not have a PPP adapter.
You should have a real IP and not the APIA assigned 169.254.208.13

You clearly are not talking to the cable modem properly. I hope it gets sorted by the technician.
