I created textboxes and one of them has a light blue background viewing with IE. The code from textbox to the next textbox is formated the same. Using Netscape 7.1 the textbox is white like all the rest. Other computers in my area using IE display white textbox backgrounds. Anyone had any IE issues like this?

I've seen this with the Google toolbar. If configured, the latest version of the google toolbar will automatically fill forms with data. By default, the toolbar colors text boxes which it thinks it can auto-fill. I found this "feature" to be particularly annoying and turned it off.

I'm not suggesting that this is exactly what your problem is because the google toolbar colors text boxes yellow, not blue. But, since this seems to be isolated to one computer and IE only, I would check to see if you have some other plugin or toolbar that might be coloring the textbox.

OR: Google determines which fields it can auto-fill by the name of the control. You could change the name of the textbox and see if it still turns colors. If you change the name to something arbitrary and it isn't colored anymore, then it's probably something specific to your browser.

Hi mate,

Sounds like an autofill program.

The Google toolbar highlights fields yellow if it can fill them, you likely have a different program that uses the same technique.

Hope this helps

No problem, Wullie. It happens sometimes. [thumbsup2]

I went to the top IE toolbar and in view I un-checked google. The color returned to white.

Thanks for the help,

Chris

Chris,

The google toolbar is a powerful ally. I would not stop using it for this reason.

1. Turn the google toolbar back on.
2. Click the Google button and select Options... from the menu.
3. On the More tab deselect the Automatically highlight fields that AutoFill can fill checkbox.

This should fix your problem and allow you to continue to use this awesome resource.
