IE background white

My IE browser background is always white, and some pages are distorted. I am running IE6 service pack 1. I looked in my tools -> internet options...colors is "Using Windows Colors" and accessibility is all unchecked. I am so frustrated I even re-installed IE6. Still no luck. Any thoughts?

Thank you for a genuinly interesting problem. I would head immediately to the web site for the graphics board manufacturer and update the video adapter drivers for the machine.
