I'm on a Win98 machine and both IE 5.5 and Netscape 4.7 browsers are hanging while surfing the web. Has anyone heard of both browsers having this problem? I'm assuming since it's both of them, the problem is not the browsers themselves. Does anybody have any ideas?

Do you recieve any error messages when it happens?
Try a good up to date virus scan & Check for Spyware too by Downloading and running AdAware
When is the last time you upgraded your Video Drivers? That can add to Internet problems.
Also, you may be low on resources. Go to MSCONFIG and have a look at what is running at startup. Here's a link to check to see whether or not you really need all those programs
