IE and kernel32.dll error

I am trying to use Internet Explorer 6.0 on a Windows ME computer. When I click on IE, I get the following message:

Iexplore has caused an error in KERNEL32.DLL.
Iexplore will now close.

Any ideas as how to fix this?
