Hi-- I have a problem with a couple of users.

Under their own logon they can't view flash content in IE 7 but in Firefox they can.

Under my logon on the same PC IE 7 is fine.

Why would Flash not work under a particular user and not work in IE only?

It kinda suggests to me that their Windows Profile IE config is corrupt maybe??? Any takers?

Cheers

I don't have IE7 but I use K-Meleon where there is an option to switch off flash. If I want to play a flash picture, I have to click on it. Maybe there is something similar in IE7.

Alternatively, the flash plugin may be corrupted. Close down everything. Run Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller. Reboot. Reinstall Flash. Reboot. Maybe it will start working again.

Reboots not strictly necessary but I've learnt not to trust Windows and tend to keep to the safe option since it tends to cache stuff that that seems to be the one of the ways of forcing it to flush its cache.

thanks for the reply, i guess I should try uninstalling first.
The thing is, it works when I sign in just not my colleague so the plug-in corruption would have to be login related

I would check if the flash plug in as active in that login for IE. I think you can disable the plugin from one profile without affecting the other profiles. So check in:
Tools-> Manage Add-Ons-> Enable/Disable Add-Ons.

Thanks, simple solution! I don't know why it was disabled for that user but that was the problem. Sorted now.

Cheers

Glad I could help.
