IE 7 does not load first try...second try goes fine

Recently, IE 7 does not load first try...second try goes fine. When it does not load, the explorer screen opens but no page is ever displayed. I must use the task manager to kill the program.

I am running Windows XP service pack 3 build 2600. I have plenty of memory (1.5gb) and available disk space.

Any thoughts?

Does the same behavior occur if you run IE in 'no add-ons' mode? (in Accessories, System Tools)

Good catch. I think you are on to something. I'll have to look into which add-on is causing the problem.
