I have an XP with IE6. I can not open some website. Sometimes the outline of the page will flicker up for a second and then I am kicked off the internet. I also can not open some links. I have reinstalled IE6 and checked my XP files. I have gone through microsoft support and followed several of their suggestions. At this point I am not sure if it is and IE problem...although I don't know what else it could be. Does anybody have an idea?

Could you provide some of the websites that you are unable to access? Some of those you can? Need to find some sort of common thread here...

download netscape and see if you can access the sites using netscape.

are you able to open links in a new window? or does it just give a blank IE screen when you try?

these commands entered from the start run prompt may fix your IE problems.

regsvr32 shdocvw.dll
regsvr32 shell32.dll
regsvr32 oleaut32.dll
regsvr32 actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 mshtml.dll
regsvr32 urlmon.dll

I already tried the "regsvr32" codes but to no avail.
It won't open links in a new window. I get the "page cannot be displayed" or I get kicked off the Internet.

I've tried the browser Opera but it doesn't want to open the sites either. I'll give Netscape a try.
