Hi guys,

I found this site by luck and I hope somebody can help me out.

My explorer will not work as well as my outlook yesterday,
our MIS manage to get my outlook working and found a (IP config)prefix in one or its setting and deleted that one,

Thats when all of our problem started, on opening IE 6, it will keep on searching for mutliple sites but return a no server detected error, we clean up the history, temp and all cookies. I found the thread on BHO and tried it out since it was similar to my case where there are this ads that keep popping up. We tried the BHO download and it work the first time by stopping the IE from jumping to other site but it still can't open any sites. Our MIS is getting crazy fixing this unit since he can sometimes ping some sites outside of our network. On restart the trouble started again even if we run BHOdemon again.

My last resort will be to format this machines but I hope it will not come to this.

Hope somebody solved this one by now!

Thanks for all the help.

Download SpyBot and run it (BHODemon allows you to enable/disable BHO's, but doesn't clean anything up. I'm not guaranteeing this as your fix, but it's something that needs to be done.

spybot should be your first thing to try after that if you're still not able to browse, run the IE repair tool and/or reinstall IE. the MIS may have "tinkered" with the wrong sys files.

Just wondering.
You said :"our MIS manage to get my outlook working "
That suggests you have an IT guy there. Would it not be his job to get it all working normally then?
After all, you are the enduser and should not have to worry about these things.
