Hi folks,

MS IE6 (and only this browser) keeps complaining about "secure and unsecure items" in a SSL secured online shop.

Users are able to call up the ssl page without any problems. When they click on a certain submit button, however, the following happens:

1.) ms ie6 gives the above message
2.) when they click "yes, show me the page" they receive an IE error
3.) when the go back and submit again, everything is fine (!)

We have checked all the html pages for mixed urls since this seems to be the cause of that warning. But there aren't any!

All urls are relative (http) or absolute with "https". So that should never be a problem. And no other browser complains about anything.

There used to be this problem with MS IE 5 which was fixed in one of the service packs but Microsoft doesn't say anything about a "feature" in the current version.

So has anyone a brightening idea on this?
Any thoughts are welcome!

in internet exolorer goto Tools---->Internet Options----->Advanced and scroll down the list until you see an option at the bottom that says "warn about invalid site certificates" and "warn if changing between secure and not secure mode" and uncheck both boxes. Hopefully this'll do the trick. Also whilst in that menu uncheck "display a notification about every script error". This will stop the annoying error messages on various sites. Click apply to confirm the changes.

hope this helps
If it annoys Microsoft then it's worth doing, and doing well!!

yeah - thanks. really appreciate your help.

but: that's not what I want (sorry!).

it's not me having the problem (I can use an different browser after all - and I do!) but literally thousands of customers visiting the shop every day and trying to buy something. I can't go around telling them to change their browser settings.

so I think I have to find a way to eliminate either the warning/error or even better the cause for the darn thing.

any other ideas on this? A. Radonic

for what it's worth: I solved the problem.
there is a java applet in the frameset. this java applet takes urls as arguments in the form of parameter tag entries.
it seems as though msie6 scans even these urls.
I changed them from http to https and the problem dissappeared.
