IE 6 opens up a blank folder when clicking on Favorites

whenever I click on a link in my favorites menu, a blank folder comes up on the taskbar which can't be closed down with ctrl+alt+del. Also on the desktop, the unnamed folder produces a grey area for a moment, then the link comes up on IE6 and disappears.

Has anyone heard of this problem?? It doesn't seem to be posted on MS's knowledgebase.

have you tried running the command from the RUN line

regsvr32 urlmon.dll joegz
