Just got a new computer - has XP and IE6 - no matter what settings I change in IE6, I can't get it to remember my passwords for different internet sites. Yes, I'm checking the "save password" box : )) But it just won't work. I appreciate any help anyone can lend !

Seems to be popular complaint..Here's a few things offered from MS Newsgroups..
============================================================
Open Internet Explorer.
Click on the Tools menu, click Internet Options , and then click the Programs tab.
Ensure that the Internet Explorer should check to see if it is the default check box is checked, click Apply , and then click OK .
Close Internet Explorer, re-open Internet Explorer, and then click Yes when you receive the following prompt.
Internet Explorer is not currently your default browser. Do you wish to make it the default?

Save Password Check Box Is Unavailable
Damaged Password List File Does Not Save Passwords
Dial-Up Networking Password Is Not Saved

Verify that password caching is enabled. To do so, use Registry Editor to view the DisablePwdCaching DWORD value in the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ Policies\Network
If password caching is disabled, the DisablePwdCaching DWORD value has a value data of 1. To enable password caching, change the value data to 0.
NOTE: If the DisablePwdCaching value does not exist, add this DWORD value with a data value of 0 to the registry key listed above.
Note that you may need to remove this value altogether, and then restart your computer to make caching work.

START - FIND IE6SETUP.EXE

Select Minimal-Custom
Select ALL parts you use....
over install your present IE6 with
a fresh copy (you should lose nothing).

Then go back and un-select the options
(ALL) in Autocomplete,,,,, APPLY !
close browser. Restart browser and select
Auto-complete choices you prefer, APPLY,
close browser and restart it.
