Well this is my first visit to this site and thought that I would take a stab at getting some help with my IE. One of the problems is that I cannot see in Win 2000 SP3 add/remove programs IE. When I go to the add/remove windows components section and de-select everything and then select only IE it starts uninstalling IIS from my system. I am using IE version 6.0.2800.1106CO - SP1 Q328970; Q324929; Q810847. The problems that I am having with IE beside the add/remove issues are:

1. Cannot open a link in a seperate window. When I select the link it opens a blank window. My cookies are set to low to see if this will work. I have cleaned out my cache several times and even cleaned out all cookies a couple of times. I also have cleaned out my temp files and history but nothing seems to help.

2. When in IE and I want to send an email message and go to my yahoo inbox and try to compose an email it will not open anything in the window for "TO". Normally a list of my address's appear in Netscape. A window opens but nothing is in it. Appears to be linked to problem above. When I go to my address book it does show all of my email address's and I can send an email from there.

Since finding these problems I have resulted in using Netscape 6x or Mozilla in order to browse the net.

Thanks for your help.

I found a way to solve the problem so no one need to reply. Since I could not get to add/remove programs my ability to get to internet tools was not visibly available. But if you enter this in your run dialog it will load the IE repair tool for IE6x and in Win2k. Then you can do a repair from the next screen. Cut this and paste in the run dialog box: "rundll32 setupwbv.dll,IE6Maintenance "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\Setup\SETUP.EXE" /g "C:\WINNT\IE Uninstall Log.Txt" without the "".
