By this I mean any time that I have to "click" on a submit button (search engines, webmail, etc) IE freezes for 5-6 seconds, then after it unfreezes it makes the "click" sound effect that should have been made as soon as I clicked the button 6 seconds prior. I've tried running the repair utility; it doesn't seem to help. I haven't tried setting IE to the "original settings", does anyone know if this will help? If not this, then what? Thanks

Some things to try...

Go to Tools | Internet Options > Content | AutoComplete and Clear Forms
------------------
Delayed Response When Editing Internet Explorer Forms and Outlook Express
May Take a Long Time to Start
------------------
1) close IE
2) Browse to \windows\downloaded program files if you're win9x or Me)
3) If there's one there called 'Tracker Class', right click on it and select Remove.

Re-start IE and you should be all set.

Good Luck smitee

Thanks a ton smitee, you were right on the first of your 4 options: after I turned off the "forms" autocomplete, it works perfectly! I wonder why their most advanced browser is so terrible at a feature they pioneered. Anyway, thanks again!

I had the same problem but happens anytime I hit a link or submit a form. It also happens when some pop-ad window appears. In fact, it happens whenever IE tries to access a new page, and sometimes happens 2 or 3 times during the process of displaying the page. After charging it completely, everything works fine. It´s not the connection as I use Opera without a problem. I´m running W98SE and IE5.5 (I changed to 6 but the problem was there so I returned to 5.5 SP2)

Thanks
