I'm using Windows XP and cable internet service. Whenever I attempt to open IE, it crashes immediately. Is there a way to uninstall IE so that I can install a new one?

Repair IE6

To reinstall IE6
1. Open the Start menu and select Run.

2. Type %SystemRoot%\Inf in the prompt and press Enter.

3. Locate and right-click the Msoe50.inf file.

4. Select Install.

5. Close the folder window after the copy process is complete.

6. Run OE.

I had this same problem and did not ever get any advise that would fix it. I repaired, deleted and reinstalled, reinstall xp, etc. Nothing worked. Finally, I installed XP Professional and exerything is fine. Since I received almost no help on this issue, I assume it was a combination of hardware conflicts and 'fluky' the xp operating system. I never had this problem on any other boxes before.
