IE 6 crashes when using address bar

Everytime I click on the drop-down option on the address bar to see which sites I have visited, IE6 locks up. This problem started yesterday without any warning. I have checked for viruses and spyware, and I appear to be clean. I also have not done any updates or service packs in the last week or so. I am running XP Prof with SP1. Any ideas as to what this could be? Thank you,
