IE 6 and access to Internet

I have a friend that has Win 98, IE 6, Comcast w/RCA Modem USB connection. When she tries to get on the Internet she gets the cannot connect error but then it automatically keeps re-loading some type of search. The really weird thing is that WINIPCFG gets ALL the correct info for IP setup so it "should" connect.

Something tells me she needs the disk re-formatted and re-loaded, she has a 13 year old that installs and uninstalls programs and not necessarily the correct way. Some remnants of old programs remain.

It sounds like you're going to have to download each of these on another machine and bring them to this pc on disk...

-To remove the fragments of partially instaleld progs, try this:

-Also, pull down a copy of SpyBot and update it on it's first run.
