IE 6.0 not connecting to any sites

I have recently begun having the problem on my WIN XP SP2 home edition PC where when I bring it up, it doesn't fully connect to the internet. Here is what I see: I can get email, connect to the other PC on the network and I can get onto chat programs. When I open IE, I get nothing. Also, I run WeatherBug and it also doesn't connect when this happens. Sometimes it takes multiple re-boots to get this to work properly. I have run Spybot and fixed problems as well as running a complete virus scan. All Windows updates are current as well. Any ideas???

Check out the threads regarding winsock issues - you might find the answer there. I fixed a similar problem on a Win98 system by downloading a winsock fix I found here at Tek-tips.
