My system is running Win 98 and IE6 with all service packs loaded. It is connected to the internet via a hub and router. The problem occured when someone visited a site that loaded some spyware. Shortly thereafter we started experiencing all kinds of popup ads. I loaded a free copy of spyware and ad-popup removal software to get rid of the unwanted software. The removal software identified several culprits and I deleted them as was advised. After restarting the system I was not able to access any websites
via IE. I am able to ping sites via the command line but not via IE, so I am fairly confindent that I have a connection to the network.
Does anyone have suggestions or tools/programs that I can download to solve this problem?
Thanks, Msouza
