Occasionally my browser (IE 6.0) will not go to a link as it says its not available off-line (but I'm on-line when this happens?) also, the two little PC's that sit in the system tray will not allow me to disconnect by right clicking on them and choosing 'Disconnect' although the 'status' option still works. I think I will try to put a fresh copy of IE6 onto my PC from a magazine CD.
My question is - do I first of all need to uninstall the present copy and if so, how do I do that?
Pentium 2 Processor, 128MB RAM. 10GB HD, Win 98 first edition
thanks in advance
David

If you go to add remove programs in control panel you can remove it from there. This procedure will also give you the option to repair IE. This might be enough to fix any problems. If not, uninstall and re install from your CD. Some of the CD copies of IE don't have the full 128 bit encription and you might have to check Microsoft for updates.

IE6 will not allow a uninstall, it will allow you to Restore a previous version or Repair the present one.

I'd never recommend installing from a CD. You'll end up getting constant messages about putting in the CD to access new features.

Go to for the latest version

Thanks
I've found this forum to be helpful. I was wondering why there wasn't an option to uninstall IE6.
