Many users are getting Dr.Watson errors after rolling out IE5.5 SP1.

I have to solve this problem for around 3000 users. What is wrong.

URGENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You don't say what error, OS or whether you're using Proxy Server (Likely if all the users are in the same place). If these don't help, post back with more detail and we'll see what we can do.

With Proxy Server Home page issue For IE4 but may be relevent Security tab
Weird one

The errors are different for every user.

We have different users facing this problem as they have different applications open and suddenly this causes Dr.Watson error coming up and closes the applications.

First it started with Oracle Applications, then we have like the CRC users using their own applications.

But we are not able to record every users error messages, just one users message is like this

"... Appl err log ... Outlook.exe ... "

If you need more info pls feel free ask.

Also, this time when I rolled out IE 5.5 SP1 i installed additional font support. But thinking these were creating problems I tried to uninstall only the additional fonts like chinese etc... but still did not fix it.

Application exception occurred:
App: exe\explorer.dbg (pid=134)
When: 12/12/1997 @ 23:19:42.27
Exception number: c0000005 (access violation)

This is one more type of error we get.

Also, sorry for not answering this to u. We do not use a Proxy Server and this error message is appearing in the OS

Windows NT 4.0 with SP5
IE 5.5 SP1

I am sorry for not getting back to you after this.

Let me explain more clearly about the problem. We were moving to Oracle 11i and we had to roll out Jinitiator 1.1.8.3. So, we rolled out Jinitiator to every users PC. After this we heard that there was a memory leak problem and this problem could be solved by rolling out IE 5.5 SP1. So, we did the IE 5.5 rollout. But we had to patch IE 5.5 again with Outlook Security vulneribility patch. So, I opened that in our login script and that had installed in our PCs too. Now, I am not sure what is causing the problem? Whether it is IE 5.5 SP1/Jinitiator/Outlook Security Patch. What I did was I tried many possibilities like rolling back few users who were getting Dr.Watson to IE 5.5 and some to IE5.5 without Outlook Security Patch and also I did one more stuff like turning on the JVM in the Internet Tools/Advanced option. But none of it solved my problem and users keep complaining that they are getting Dr.Watson. So, is someone out there to give me more information I would appreciate it.

thanks,
John
