IE 5.5 Slow Performance and Disconnects

I need help!

I recently installed the MS Security update and now am having several problems. First, IE 5.5 performance has slowed to a crawl (compared to before the security patch install). I can see nothing that has visisbly changed in the IE settings. Second, and this is a two fold problem, once a web page is open and I click on the "Next" button, IE gives a "page cannot be displayed" error. Then if I try to open the page again, IE disconnects from the ISP.

Suggestions?

Call your ISP and have one of their techs go through all your IE and dialer settings with you. There are many possibilities that could be causing you to get disconnected.
