Hi All,

We are trying to run IDR preparation Wizard on Windows NT but the Wizard complains about being unable to open "\\hostname\C$\Winnt\system32\drivers\atapi.sys" and does not finish.

We have run it on more than 15 machines and only 2 of them are with this problem. We can't generate the disketes nor CD image for those hosts.

Environment:
Client: Windows NT sp6a
Server & Media: Windows 2000 SP3
NBU: 4.5 FP5

Has anyone run into this problem?

Regards,

MrLula

This file is more than likely in use at the time. Are you running open file manager aka..OTM?

No. We are not using OTM (now VSP), but the problem here is to generate the IDR using the IDR PrepWizard on the client.

Full backups are working fine and also marked as "collect disaster recovery information".

Using device manager on Windows control pannel we can see ATAPI driver as "Running". We have stoped and rebooted an than it complains about other driver...

We have done it on other boxes with the same OS level and also with ATAPI running and the Wizard finishes ok. We just can't figure what is wrong with these machines...

Any other clues??
