OK I've got this far in testing an IDR of one machine type to another (not-like-hardware)....
Have created IDR Diskettes (5 of them).
Booted & loaded the first 4 win2K disks. Installed Win2K CD
Used the IDR diskette and then IDR brings up a selection of drives to restore (C: D: and System State.
Here is the problem... the auto restore gives a list of media to restore from, starts the job then crashes (on all 3 selections).
here's the errors from the BE log.
An error occurred while scanning the catalogs. The job will not continue.
Please check for the following:
- low virtual memory conditions
- a corrupt or truncated catalog
- that the media you are restoring has not been overwritten
^ ^ ^ ^ ^
Memory should be Ok - rebooted our backup server and nothing was running when the auto-restore submitted.
Catalog is ok - I can restore other files from the media.
Media has not been overwritten!
HELP because veritas support can't.
btw I tried making a CD but the list of drives didn't appear in the IDR procedure!
