IDMIF/INVENTORY Question

Hello Experts!

Is is possible for me to take a hardware/software inventory and have the file saved locally on the machine? I need to run hardware/software inventory on stand alone computers and do not know the best approach to collecting this data. Once file is compiled i can then copy it over to a connected machine and upload data to the SMS database. Not quite sure what your recommendations on this may be.

No because the stand alone client will need a site boundary to recieve policies from the MP to tell it to run inventories, or if you could figure it out in the registry to set a timer and have it run it, but then your going to have to figure out how to read it later anyway....seems like more of a PIA than its worth.
