? Idle timeout from remote connection through firewall?

I am connecting a Unix application on AIX 4.2.1.0 using Facetwin Terminal Emulation through my Raptor 6.5 firewall, I have set up a custom port for this application and have setup NAT for the redirection. When I am connected to my Unix server through this application, I am getting 30 minute idle timeouts that I don't know where they are coming from. I have been told that my firewall isn't causing them, and my terminal emulation software is not capable of causing them and my Unix software isn't causing them.
I have exhausted my outsourced support on this topic and am hoping that someone knows more about this to help.
