Would probably be a good idea to look at the overall load of your machine -- all of the applications it runs, the databases that are running on it and how many users it supports.
What type of machine is it?
What does it run?
How many users does it support at one time? (typically) Mike

Email welcome if you're in a hurry or something -- but post in tek-tips as well please, and I will post my reply here as well.
Before you reboot, you should use "top" to find out which process is taking all the cpu. It's usually one or two processes, then you can decide what to do with these process (kill them or optimize them).
if the cpu is shared between many processes (low % for each process) then it probably means your server needs to be upgraded.
top is a freeware for sun solaris available at sun.freeware.com. It comes with HP-UX, Linux , and AIX.
