Dear All
I have a problem with my photosmart C4180. Whenever I switch the printer on, the CPU usage on my pc goes very high to nearly 90% even though the pc is not doing any operations.
I experimented with this problem and found that when I safely remove the Mass Storage unit of the printer using the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon, the cpu usage goes down to virtually zero. therefore, only the card reader features of the printer causes the CPU usage to go so high.
The printer is connected to the pc via usb and I use Norton firewall and antivirus in case this has any bearing on the advice you give me.
My question is why is this happening and what is the solution please?
many thanks
