IDES developer access key

I am using IDES 4.6C for learning. If I want to create an ABAP program, it popup a dialog to let me put an access key for the login user. How can I resolve this problem?

Can anyone give me a good quick reference on understanding what SAP is, but specifically SAP R/3 version 4.6C with ISPS? I'm looking at this from a security perspective, making sure that it is secure before it is deployed.
