I am using merge replication with SQL 2000 SP3. The problem relates to when I stop a subscription and discountinue all publishing. This is critical for testing, structure changes, etc.
The problem occurs when I attempt to restart replication by creating a new publication with subscriptions. When I add a record with an INT field with Auto Increment the seed is being reintiated back to the 1 record.
In other words, lets say the counter was up to 450. The next record id should be 451 (assuming a 1 increment). Instead, SQL creates id #1 all over again and you end uo having duplicated records.
Any ideas?
