Happy New Year!

We're moving from 2002 format(on windows 7)to 2016 on windows 10. Converted without issue.

Previously we had the users log in via the shortcut "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14\MSACCESS.EXE" "C:\applocn\appname.mdb" /wrkgrp "N:\appdir\system.mdw" (target = "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14"), and it picked them up as the current user. Now the shortcut "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office16\MSACCESS.EXE" "C:\applocn\appname.accdb" /wrkgrp "N:\appdir\system.mdw" (target = "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office16") is giving an error "Cannot open a database created with a previous version of your application".. We're thinking it has to do with the "system.mdw" file.

Everything from the menus on down, runs based on the current user. How can we get the application to identify and relate the user's initials that they key in as the current user?

Thank you.

Did you successfully migrate the mdw as well? Sadly, I'd be surprised, since User Level Security not implemented for .accdb, and so support for .mdw is missing …
