Identifying M2317 sets in LD 32

i have a remote office that uses 2616s and 2317s. When i go to LD 32 and do an IDU on the 2317 set TNs I get error message NPR501. This means "TN not equipped or not a voice TN or a modular phone". I know for a fact the TNs ARE equipped but what is a MODULAR phone? I am sure I do in fact have some ports programmed with 2317s that are NOT equipped, but how can I tell which 2317 ports ARE equipped? i am 3000 miles away from the office so checking the block can't be done. thanks

I have tried to do this, but have never been able to ID a 2317. It think it has comething to do with the type of phone.

This may be why they don't produce this phone any longer.
