identifying IP address/port via dialup!

I am into development of network scanning/protection tools. Currently i am working on developing an application that can dial into a remote machine(having RAS enabled) and then one can ftp files vi my application. But can anyonehelp me in identifying the IPaddress of the machine, i am dialing into, once i am connected via dialup.
-Language i am using is VB 6.0 and i am having a GVC 56kbps modem.
It would be great to receive a response!
