Identify when files are backed up?

Is there a way I can tell when files are being backed up? I'd like to verify that failed SQL Svr jobs result from files being unavailable due to an enterprise Arc Serve backup taking place. We don't have access to the Arc Serve logs. thanks.

Setup an Alert to e-mail the result of the backup job. You can also specify that you want the corresponding job log attached to the e-mail alert

We need a way to determine when the backup occurred by looking on the server being backed up. Our IT group does not share their Arcserve logs with us. Is there a file attribute change that would indicate when the last backup occurred? thanks

The Client and DB Agent logs should have that data recorded.
