I have a database with about 8 users. There are times when someone starts to save a record and does not finish - this locks everyone else from saving. First question is... is there something I can/should be doing to eliminate this - I did not think so.

My second question: Is there a way to determine what user is locking everyone out?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks!

I had this same problem with one of my databases. What I found to be the problem (through shear luck) was that my computer's network card was dieing, causing lost packets which in turn crashed the database.

I don't know where, but I got an ldb viewer which gave me no information since it couldn't read the ldb once the database was crashed. I'm interested to see what others have found.
