Hi,
For my assignment, I'm required to build a smart personal planner for lecturers. I need some ideas about smart features to be included into the planner. I have submitted my first proposal with the following features:
2) Planner/Calendar Module
- Schedule appointments or activities using the calendar
- Manage scheduled events (store, retrieve, edit, delete and print)
- Multiple views (daily, weekly, monthly and yearly)
- Overall events list (ToDo)
3) Lecturer’s Timetable Module
- Provides a simple interface for lecturers to create, edit or print their own timetable (lecture schedule).
- Store description of subjects taught by the lecturer and additional information, e.g. references, lecture time, venue, number of students, and records on performance of the subjects (these information would have to be added by the lecturer him/herself).
4) Project Info and Status Module
- Simple project status interface
- Add, edit, update and delete project
5) E-Mail facilities
- Compose and send e-mail
- Read e-mails from a POP3 account
- Attach documents
6) Address Book Module
- Won’t be able to import or export to Outlook or other e-mail clients
7) Message Board Module
- Post and reply messages
- Viewed by all LEAP users
8) Preferences Module
- Change password
- Personal details
- Select startup page after logging in
9) Help Module
- Documented help or user guide for the system
Smart Features:
1) Reminder of events either by e-mail or windows pop-up.
2) Remember special events (birthdays, anniversaries…).
3) Display warning if trying to schedule appointments in a filled time slot.
4) Generate simple chart based on a subject’s performance records
5) Administrator Module
- Only visible to users with administrative privileges
- View all users’ information
- Create account for newly approved users
- Delete user account
6) Search Module
- Search events
- Search Address Book
However, my supervising lecturer said that the features are common and not smart. She wants something different and smart.
I'm really frustrated! So can anyone please help me? Anyone have any ideas or suggestions on some "smart" features that can be included into the planner?
Please help!
