It would be a lot for me to ask someone to coach me through the project I'm doing, but I'm new at this Access thing and I have A LOT, I mean a lot, of questions. I have a book, but it's not great, and I look at the Help menu, but that's pretty deep, too. It would be really nice to have a personal tutor walk me through the project (and a couple other ones I'd like to do) but my hope for that is slowly waning. I'm not sure if my ideas are simple or complex, if my database design is efficient, if I'm close to fixing problems or if I'm way off, or if what I would like is even possible. ANY direction about how to learn would be helpful--books, online chats, webpages, etc.
THANKS, Experts.

What is your background? Are you a developer in other languages, a power user, novice programmer? You'll need to give a little bit more background for someone to help you. Also, don't forget your local library. When I first started using Access I checked a couple books out of the library which had CDs with working code I could use and look at to learn more.

Good Luck!

All my Access apps were created in Access 97 and are not being converted to Access 2000. If and when rewritten will go to vb.net.

The most helpful book I found was Allison Balter's Mastering ACCESS 97 Development, second edition. It comes with a cd of examples for every chapter as well as code examples in the text. It is well written w/ tips on real world of Access. It is well worth reading almost in its entirety.

If you are using Access 2000, it would still be a good starting point and I am not sure but mabye I saw that she had a 2000 version when I was in Barnes and Nobel recently.
