Idea, is it possible?

I have no experience in flash, just an idea I wanted developed so I thought I would ask to see if people thought it was possible before seeking a coder.

I would like a program/website that allows people to design their next tattoo.
Basically a drawing program (online) that would allow users to select from an array of templates and edit them with text/lines/shading and add as much functionality as possible with possibly the ability to start with their own image.

It would be cool if this could be done on a 3d model, ie the user selects male/female and body part which is then zoomed in on to draw the tattoo so that a user may get an actual feel of how it may look.

I dont know the implications/costs of such a project however I would appreciate any advice on whether this is achievable and any pro's cons to my idea.

I'm sure ths could be achieved with Flash, but it could be quite a project. I once made a file where you could design your own house - very basic, but it has the same idea. You'd need to make the templates available, plus there are tutorials out there to show you how to zoom in on specific parts of a picture. You can allow your visitors to change/adjust colours as well. I've also heard that you can allow them to draw with Flash, I'm sure there are tutorials for that as well. With no experience with Flash, this would take some research and learning, but I think it can be done if you're willing to spend the time on it...and also, it's a pretty cool idea!!

Thanks for your input, I wouldn't actually be doing the work, more sourcing a coder to make the project if I went ahead.

I did however wish to put the idea out there and see if there would be any obvious reasons this couldn't or wouldn't happen as I already have a few websites on the topic of tattoos which generate good traffic.

I wondered if flash would be the tool to use or an applet, but I am also unaware of the possible strain this would put on a server.

I know the idea of using a 3d model would greatly increase bandwidth and build cost but if I was going to do it I would really want it to have an edge and functionality that was appropriate to the end user.
