Hi,

I'm currently building a Unixware 7.1.1 system which is loaded via bootp/tftp and the whole stuff is in the RAM (/ is memfs).
-During bootup the existing symbios scsi controller will be detected and the c8xx hba will installed (mounting of vxfs slices on scsi disks works fine)
- But the ide controller/hba not. (when booting my base system from the scsi disk, the ide works fine and I am able to mount slices from the ide disk)

So, here my questions:
-Which files, scripts, executables are necessary in for activatiing/detecting the IDE drives (etc/conf/....) ?
-Is there a difference between the IDE hba and the scsi
hbas (during bootup, esp. device file creation ...) ?
-How can I activate the ide HBA after boot ?

best regards

Hi
I have solved the problem. After building a kernel with
a statically linked IDE HBA (inserting '$static' in the ide file in the sdevice-directory) the IDE controller is detected and I'm able to mount Unixware slices on the
flash disk behind the CMD648 IDE-controller.

best regards
