I have recently posted a thread in the dard drive issues group but i am not sure it is a hard drive issue as my legacy usb also fails. Please take a look at the thread at if you think you can help. I appreciate all the help I can get as no one I have spoke with (repair men other IT etc.) have been able to help.
 
That board new off the shelf only costs 50.00, and I am guessing HP had it made for 10-15 if that much. Is it really worth all the time and trouble you are going through for that?
 
that seems to be the consensus, I just hope the cpu is still good. I am on a pretty tight budget right now.
