I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE IDE CONNECTIONS . IAM RUNNING ME, THE CONFLICT IS BETWEEN THE HDD AND CDROM HAVE RECENTLY INSTALLED A NEW HDD AND SHORTLY AFTER THAT HAVE NO CD AND ALSO A CONFLICT BETWEEN IDE 1 AND IDE 2 ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRICIATED THNX BADDOG

Most often you get a problem with Hard drives and other drives attached to the same cable like CDroms ,cd burners, Etc. the cause most of the time is the jumper settings on these drives if you have a HDD set as master and you install another drive as a master on the same IDE cable . Then you get a conflict which will cause the computer to not see either drive you need to see where the jumper settings are when you install a new drive. if you have 1 drive set as master on your IDE cable then you need to set the new drive up as a slave drive using the jumpers on the drive. there is a list of jumper settings on the drive they will look something like
MA for master
SL for slave
CS for cable select
most often you will set the jumper to use MA or SL
I hope this helps
