Hi All

I am experiencing writing to an IDE-CDWriter. I am using Openserver 5.0.6. I cannot use cdrecord as cdrecord ony writes to SCSI devices. I have heard that I should be using a utility called burncd. Does anyone know where I can locate this utility? Any assistance greatly appreciated.

In general, SCSI cdwriters work better than ide on ANY platform: Windows, Linux, whatever. That's true for drives of any kind- hard drives, cd readers, etc.

Cdrecord can work with ide devices only if they emulate scsi. On OSR5 that emulation presently has serious defects. ?However, I have been told that the 5.0.7 release (due out any minute now) will correct that, and you will be able to use IDE cdrw's and dvdrams.

Personally, I'd rather use scsi anyway. The advantages far outway the minor extra expense. Tony Lawrence
