IDE-CD r/rw MISSING from the system

I installed win2000 in my computer, and it couldn't open
CD's that I recorded in the old win98 system. I then
installed direct CD, hoping it would work. Then, the E:
driver (r/rw) is missing! What should I do now? Thank you.
