IDE and SATA

If your motherboard supports SATA then you can run a SATA drive but if it doesn't you need an IDE. Either way you should still have an IDE hookup on your board. SATA drives are supposed to have a faster response when accessing files on your hard drive.

Best to go with SATA if you have that connection type on your motherboard.
Please post back with some more info on the motherboard fitted.
