Will a Western Digital IDE HDD work with a SATA HDD? I was thinking about mirroring both hard drives for backup purposes. I am not sure if I can do this or not. Any suggestions?

I'm not exactly sure what you are saying?
But an IDE and SATA will work together but not Raided (in mirror)unless you have one of the newest motherboards that allows this.
As a simple backup drive, then of course yes, no problem.

Even a "normal" Raid setup prefers matching hard drives. I don't think mixing mechanicly different hard drives would work.
