I regularly create & publish a 200MB IDCS file + 1.2GB in .tiffs
Currently, i run IDCS on an AMD1.8ghz+1GB ram. It manages it but is sluggish with occasional crashes.
Am thinking of buying a 1.57ghz 12" Powerbook with 1.256GB RAM with IDCS2.
1) Would this be sufficient power for me to smoothly work with such a large file - eg, as I scroll through pages, or use the data-merge function to generate pages.
2) If not, and i have to go for a bigger 1.67ghz 15", how much RAM would i need? Would having 128mb video memory be of any benefit?
- I would not be doing much simultaneous photoshopping - and definitely nothing heavy duty.
Of course, am trying to keep costs down (& would prefer a more portable 12"), but most importantly, I need the hard+software to work smoothly without delays, so i can work.
Thanks for any help out there
